I'm aware of my carbon Footprint when I travel and fly around the world for my performances. Cultural exchange is an amazing thing, but obviously, travelling carries with it an environmental impact.
Some years ago my father decided he would plant a tree in lieu of every flight I took. Since 2010 we've planted about 100 trees a year, including pear, apple, walnut, oak and sweet chestnut on my fathers smallholding just outside of Pontypridd.
I want to give back to the planet. I realise I will never be able to put back in everything I take, but I'm very conscious of our human impact and I will continue to try and think of ways to repay my carbon footprint.
