CATRIN FINCH & SECKOU KEITA
Catrin’s award-winning collaboration with Senegalese Kora player Seckou Keita began back in 2012 and continues to flourish, filling concert halls, venues and festivals worldwide.
Following unanimous critical raves for their 2013 debut Clychau Dibon, the duo delivered a triumphant second album with 2018's album SOAR, again charting inspirational common ground between seemingly disparate traditions.
SOAR went on to win the prestigious fRoots Critics Poll Album of The Year 2018, an award Catrin and Seckou also received previously for Clychau Dibon in 2013, Songlines Music Award for Best Fusion Album 2018, Best Transregional Album in the Transglobal World Music Charts 2018, and won the accolade of Best Duo / Band at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards in 2019. The album also received a nomination for the Welsh Music Prize, and has been named as one of MOJO and Songlines Magazines Top Ten Albums of the Year 2018.
The duo are Artists in Residence at Liverpool Philharmonic for their 2020-21.
