13 is my lucky number!

I'm thrilled to share13, the first track on my new solo album Notes to Self, which releases 27th February 2026 on bendigedig. The video was directed by the fabulous Carys Eleri and filmed by the brilliant crew at Trigger Happy.

Each track on 'Notes To Self' is accompanied by a letter written to my 13-year-old-self Katy (as I was known locally growing up). 

A booklet featuring the full letters is available with CD and vinyl album purchases.

'13' is a track about having the courage to be yourself, to be brave when facing life's journeys, and to always keep your heart open. 

Here is my accompanying letter to '13': 

Dear Katy, 

You are so loved. I thought I would write you this letter to tell you that love does exist, I promise, and it really is the greatest of all things, though it may not always be easy for you to understand it. You are thirteen now. A number that’s said to be unlucky, but things aren’t always as they seem or what you are led to believe. 

This magical number,13, will always be filled with importance, positivity and love for you. Without me realising, its very essence was woven into the pulse of this song, casting its lifelong spell upon us both. 

Know that life will be laced with confusion, and it will take you some time to tune in to yourself and find out who and what makes your heart strings sing. And that’s ok. We don’t always have the answers straight away, just don’t be afraid of the journey. 

Treasure it, enjoy it, and keep your heart open. For after all the adversity you will face, love and happiness are here. 

It’s all waiting for you. I promise.
